Cowboys WR Dez Bryant Broke NCAA Rules With Jewelry

Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant received about $200,000 in jewelry, on credit, while playing at Oklahoma State University, according to court documents. If true, that could be a violation of NCAA amateurism rules, said Kevin Fite, associate athletic director for compliance at OSU. Fite said the school is notifying the NCAA about the matter. “Receiving benefits or loans based on potential earnings is a violation,â€￾ Fite said. “We’re going to look at it, and any information we need to provide to the NCAA, we will.â€￾ Altogether, Bryant owes more than $800,000 for jewelry and sports tickets, according to two lawsuits filed in Dallas and Tarrant counties. Payment for the items he received while he was still eligible at OSU was linked, in part, to his signing “his first Marketing or Sports Contract,â€￾ according to copies of the credit purchase agreements included in court filings. Past due payments accrue at 25 percent annual interest.

At least all the other college athletes who accept loans and jewelry are apparently smart enough to REPAY THEIR FREAKING BILLS in a timely fashion to avoid being publicly outed and ashamed.

 

I agree it's stupid, he's not the only one to do it though, and he should have to pay back the loans immedietly or go to jail. I don't dispute taht. I dispute people ripping on Dez for EVERYTHING he does though, its stupid.
