Panthers Not Getting Interest From Teams In Top 10 For No. 1 Overall Pick

  1. According to Darin Gantt of the Charlotte Observer, the Panthers aren't getting interest from teams drafting second through eighth about the possibility of trading out of the No. 1 spot. Gantt leaves the door open for Carolina to make a move with the Cowboys (No. 9), who would undoubtedly draft LSU CB Patrick Peterson. The move from nine to one, however, could easily cost Dallas a future first-round pick and more. Ultimately, trading out of the top five is far, far easier said than done.

    Shouldn't be that hard.

It shouldn't be, you're right. But it is, and very.

The choice to pick whoever you want in the whole draft should be worth a lot. But it is more valued when any selection is possibly in play at first overall. Until a wage scale is implemented and teams can take a shot on a guy like Peterson at #1, you'll continue to see QB and DLine at the top of the draft while the top players get locked out of the top spot(s) because of positional value and contract issues.

As of now the only easy way would to trade number ones picks that's it but that would never happen
