John McClain of the Houston Chronicle hears the Redskins are "trying like crazy" to trade up for one of this year's elite quarterbacks. Unless the Skins offer most, if not all, of their 2012 draft class (picks from which will be severely devalued because no one even knows if there will be a 2012 draft), we have a hard time believing Mike Shanahan can execute a trade up. They don't have a third- or fourth-round pick this year. McClain believes that the Redskins are targeting Missouri's Blaine Gabbert. Source: Houston Chronicle
I personally think that Washington wants anybody that Dan Snyder has heard of. At this point, whatever Washington does is going to flop because they don't seem to have a clue of what they are doing.
Allen says we are doing the complete opposite and are trying to trade down to get more picks, which is fine with me 110%. Either way I think these are all smoke screens and nobody really has a clue as to what the Redskins are going to. The one "expert" that's lucky pick actually happens will help boost their ego a bit and that's about it. If anything, Shanahan has gone OL a lot in the draft hasn't he? I'd say that's a good guess as to what we'll do. We have one good tackle, now we just need another - and being you can get them just about anywhere, it'd make sense to trade down, gain a couple more picks with all the holes to fill.
I doubt he lasts in DC long enough to develop a cold. Snyder is clearly les then thrilled with his performance so long.
