Commissioner Roger Goodell says the National Football League is heading to period of no salary cap or college draft, unlimited free agency and big market teams dominating without a new labor deal. BLOOMBERG reports that Goodell believes some teams might have $200 million payrolls (Redskins, Cowboys?), while other penny pinching franchises (Bengals?) may spend less than $50 million. The Commish believes that some players will make LESS than the minimum salary today. The biggest media market teams will be the most successful and smaller markets will be used as “farm teams,†according to Goodell. “Is this the NFL that players want? A league where elite players attract enormous compensation and benefits while other players — those lacking the glamour and bargaining power of the stars — play for less money, fewer benefits and shorter careers than they have today?†Goodell wrote. “A league where the competitive ability of teams in smaller communities (Buffalo, New Orleans, Green Bay and others) is forever cast into doubt by blind adherence to free-market principles that favor teams in larger, better-situated markets?†Source: Bloomberg
this whole thing reminds me of the south park episode where all the bands go on strike to protest napster and it turns out they're all rich, greedy d-bags.
Well its not other teams faults some of them have cheap butt penny pinching owners who do not want the best
