The "U-S-A, U-S-A" chants began at Citizens Bank Park in the ninth inning Sunday night, as the New York Mets' Daniel Murphy batted as a pinch-hitter against Philadelphia Phillies reliever Ryan Madson. And as the news filtered among the announced crowd of 45,713 -- the 137th consecutive sellout in the stadium's history -- about U.S. special forces killing accused Sept. 11 mastermind Osama bin Laden in Pakistan, the chants grew louder and more widespread, and people could be spotted all over the ballpark cfreaking their phones."I don't like to give Philadelphia fans too much credit, but they got this one right," Mets third baseman David Wright said. It was funny to watch live because the players had no clue what was going on. They were all looking at each other like WTF... Good timing by the cat in the USA Jersey...lol.
this was a great thing. I didnt see it live but I saw it on sportscenter. ANd this morning on the sports talk radio everyone is talking about it.
It was epic, I saw it live and it was one of the sweetest things to see happen live. Epic Victory, go USA!
Depends on how you look at it, they were cheering the death of a human...just ask Rashard Mendenhall. lol...
My buddy was there and he said it was the coolest thing he's seen at a game. He took his 5 yr old son and said his son really got into the USA chant.
