Drafted in the third round by the New England Patriots, former Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett is holding a grudge against the Miami Dolphins. Apparently, the Dolphins told the Mallett camp that they were going to trade for him. Now, Mallett has a chip on his shoulder. “They took another guy,†Jim Mallett told the Boston Herald. “Ryan said, ‘Payback.’ He remembers it all.†The Mallett family has seen their son under a lot of scrutiny of his character during the draft process, including unconfirmed allegations of drug use. “When I see tears in my mother’s eyes, that’s where I draw the line,†Jim Mallett said. “But you can’t control what they are saying.†Mallett's high school coach, Barry Norton, vouches for the quarterback's work ethic. “He had such a drive and it made everyone around him the same way,†Norton said. “He was intolerable of people that weren’t working as hard. In high school football in Texas, there is so much pressure to win. It was a lot to carry on his shoulders.†Source: National Football Post
