In the opinion of running back Cedric Benson, it wouldn't be a good idea for quarterback Carson Palmer to return to the Cincinnati Bengals. Rebuffed in a request for a trade, Palmer has said he would rather retire than play for the Bengals again. "It wouldn't be healthy for the team to bring him back," Benson said on Sirius' Late Hits radio program Tuesday night. "To bring him back would be detrimental to the team. If he's there and not happy, he's not gonna give us his best." Source: National Football Post
Yep......Another lets-blame-the-QB-because-that's-the-only-problem-this-team-has complaint. This team has underachieved for the last 5 years and continues to do the same thing expecting different results. Last time I checked, that's insanity. I said it during last season, this team needs a complete overhaul........Not just at one position. Palmer wants out because it's obvious to him(and any other honest fan) nothing is going to change anytime soon.
Completely underachieved? You do realize that in 2009 they swept their division and went to the playoffs right? And had Carson Palmer been able to do ANYTHING with the football they may have won a playoff game but because C Ben had to do EVERYTHING especially after Chris Henry's death they fell apart. Truth is, running and defense win, and the Bengals have both. They need to go back to the 2009 Philosophy, and they will shock the NFL again. Truthfully any Bengals fan who watched the team's last four games when TO and Chad were out, they are EXCITED for this season, and as long as a whiny butt Carson Palmer isn't on this team and they play good Defense and let their running back RUN they will finish 10 and 6. I guarantee it. The team does not need an overhaul the management needs to STICK with what WORKS. Oh, and let the young Wide Receivers play, heck Ocho.
Like I said....Just blame the QB. Yes, they swept their division and they got swept right out of the play-offs. 4-12 last season should have been the end of this coaching staff but their still here. Again....There's a whole lot more wrong with this team then just the QB issue.
