Ex-NFL QB Brett Favre Reiterates He's Done With Football

Discussion in 'NFL General Discussion' started by BigBlueBruiser, Jun 14, 2011.

  1. Brett Favre stood on the sidelines at M.M. Roberts Stadium this morning looking every bit as fit and energetic as the NFL quarterback who carved out a Hall of Fame career. Could he still play? “I can still throw the ball as well as I ever have. No question about that,â€￾ said Favre as he gazed out at the youngsters assembled for his inaugural 7-on-7 football camp on the Southern Mississippi campus. Does he want to play? “I don’t want to put my body through that anymore,â€￾ he said. “I’ve been beat up enough.â€￾ Favre, 41, a former Southern Miss standout, spent 20 years in the NFL, accomplishing every milestone imaginable and then some. A three-time NFL Most Valuable Player, Favre holds records for most career passing yards (71,838); touchdown passes (508); consecutive starts as quarterback (321 including playoffs) and led the Green Bay Packers to the Super Bowl championship following the 1996 season.

I walked in a restaraunt yesterday and saw "Favre is back" on ESPN. I was like "go figure" but then saw it was only to host the 7-on-7 camp. ESPN headlines = stupid.

They do that on purpose to catch your attention. A lot of their headlines are misleading to cause interest.

His starting streak is over, the Vikings are in rebuilding mode, so I don't think Favre has anything else to paly for. All he would be is more material for Frank Caliendo.
