Terrell Owens, who has placed himself among the NFL's all-time leading receivers with plans to play a 16th season, has undergone surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in one of his knees following a previously undisclosed injury this offseason, according to sources familiar with the injury. Owens, 37, was unavailable for comment but sources said the surgery by noted orthopedist Dr. James Andrews occurred within the past month. One source said Owens was hurt while on site taping a television show for VH1. Another source said Owens tore the ACL during a personal workout but other sources could not confirm the cause of injury. Owens' 2010 season for the Cincinnati Bengals came to an end when he tore meniscus cartilage in his left knee Dec. 19 against the Cleveland Browns in week 14. Source: ESPN
Looks like it's a possible career-ending injury....... Owens will turn 39 before the end of the 2012 season.
He was pretty good last year till he got hurt. Hes done though, unless he doesn't mind getting relegated to a lesser role. *coughyeahrightcough*
Six months is the best case scenario for Owens to return according to reports. But it takes well over a year until your 100 percent recovered from an ACL injury. No team is going to sign a soon to be 38-year old receiver with his character and a bum knee. He'll be 39 by the time he is completely recovered from the injury. Retirement should be something for him to consider and I give it a 60-40 edge on him hanging up his cleats.
I agree with Carter....... 1.) Jerry Rice 2.) Don Hutson 3.) Steve Largent 4.) Lance Alworth 5.) Tim Brown 6.) Paul Warfield 7.) Raymond Barry 8.) James Lofton 9.) Cris Carter 10.) Fred Biletnikoff
Where is Lynn swann and art monk Carter doesn't belong on that list sent from my HTC EVO using tapatalk
He started his tv career too early, not just 1 show but everything he could get on. TO was more focused on his shows than football at this point anyway. Personally I wish it would've been Ochostinko.
