Redskins May Keep DT Albert Haynesworth Around To Make '"Example Out Of Him"?

Discussion in 'Washington Redskins' started by BigBlueBruiser, Jul 7, 2011.

  1. Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth has already pocketed over $30 million from the team two years into a seven-year, $100 million deal and not being a part of its future. But Washington continues to tell Haynesworth it won't trade him unless it receives "value" in return. The odds of anyone giving up anything more than a fifth-round draft pick are bleak. Jason La Canfora of NFL Network reports that some close to Haynesworth believe coach Mike Shanahan might keep him around to make an example of him in the doghouse for another year.

Keep in mind while they make an example out of him, they're also paying him $70 million that's left on his contract I don't see how they can be competitive with a huge chunk of their salary cap wasted. Not the mention the team mates who are working hard making $500k a year. I think that in teaching him a lesson, they're also teaching themselves and their fans a lesson too.

Not true, they will fine him just like they did last season.

He coulda been a NT, a damn good one. He got paid, ALOT. At that point its not his place to split hairs.

Yes, he is a better gap shooter then block occupier, but if he shut up and played, he could have still been a Pro Bowl NT. He is just that skilled as a DT. One of the more skilled DT's the NFL has had in a while

But instead he wanted to whine about his "fit"
