The Metrodome’s new roof will rise Wednesday morning, barring breezy weather or other complications. Bill Lester, executive director of the Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission — which owns and operates the Dome on behalf of the public — said that they plan to begin inflating the new $22.7 million roof at about 7 a.m. Ordinarily the roof can be inflated in short order, but workers plan to take it nice and easy Wednesday. The entire procedure could take up to three hours. The Dome’s former roof, which lasted for 29 years, was ripped open in a blizzard seven months ago Tuesday. Source: Star-Tribune
