Vikings QB Joe Webb Working On Passing Skills With Brett Favre In Mississippi

Discussion in 'Minnesota Vikings' started by BigBlueBruiser, Jul 14, 2011.

  1. For former UAB quarterback Joe Webb, last summer was spent trying to learn the ropes of playing for a professional football team. This summer, however, Webb is just hoping there will be an NFL season for which to prepare. "It's been very intense," Webb said of the continuing NFL lockout. "All we can do is try to stay in shape." Webb, who spent his entire high school and college career playing in his hometown of Birmingham, was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the sixth round of the 2010 draft and saw action in three games, including the Dec. 18, 2010 game in which he rushed for a touchdown and led the Vikings in an upset against the NFC East champion Philadelphia Eagles, 24-14. Webb replaced an injured Brett Favre late in the season, and it has been Favre who has helped Webb to stay focused throughout the off-season. After participating in workouts at the IMG Academy in Florida in May, Webb has spent the past few weeks in Hattiesburg, Miss., working on his throwing game with Favre."It's great to have a person like that as my contact," Webb said. "He can still sling it."

    Brett Favre school of QB'ing:

    1. Always put yourself before the team, you never know when you want to continue that streak you own even if your hurting the success of the club.
    2. Take unnecessary risks, because if they succeed it'll make you look great on the highlight reel, even if it's throwing down the throat of the defence whilst FG range in the last minute of a NFC Championship 4th quarter.
    3. Go long, a lot. If it works, it makes you look great. If it doesn't, well at least you'll climb up the career INT list!
    4. In the offseason, cause as much trouble (whilst keeping it legal) for your team as possible.
    5. Do everything you can to get revenge against those that have wronged you, even if your in the wrong. Make sure you do the above four whilst doing so though. As much as you want petty revenge/success, making yourself look great is a priority.
    6. And last of all, create as much media hype as possible! It'll make them and the bonehead fans forget about your major shortcomings (It worked for Vince Young, Tim Tebow and Cam Newton!)
