Vikings Prefer To Sign Veteran Quarterback Rather Through Trade?

Discussion in 'Minnesota Vikings' started by BigBlueBruiser, Jul 17, 2011.

  1. Pro Football Weekly hears that the Vikings' preference for adding a veteran quarterback will be through free agency rather than trade, which makes Marc Bulger perhaps a more likely option than, say, Donovan McNabb, Kyle Orton or perhaps Vince Young. The way the team figures, it would rather not give up a draft pick for a player who only will be a placeholder for Christian Ponder, whom it wants to win the starting job in time.

    Here comes McNabb

  3. I think Bulger is the best option imo....while he still has the fire to start.....he doesn't have an ego like McNabb or Young. Orton would be too pricey as a stop-gap.

Let Bulger start for at least half the season.....depending where the Vikings are at that point.....then hand it to Ponder.
