New Orleans Saints star quarterback Drew Brees denied reports that he's looking to capitalize on his plaintiff status in the class-action antitrust lawsuit against the NFL. Greg A. Bedard of the Boston Globe reported earlier today that Brees and Colts quarterback Peyton Manning asked to be exempt from the franchise tag as part of the settlement of the "Tom Brady vs. NFL" antitrust lawsuit case. "I want no special perks," Brees wrote on his Twitter account. "My job is to get a fair deal for all players, and I am proud to represent them all - past, present and future. ..All media claims about me wanting a personal reward for this deal are false. I hope you all know me better than that." Brees' contract is up following the 2011 season and if the NFL agrees to these terms, it would allow Brees to work out a long-term deal with the Saints or potentially hit the open market next spring. I believe every player is in it for themselves at some point. IE, franchise tag exemption. But, to say he's completely full of crap? Lol. Hater.
