NFL lockout or not, Chris Johnson’s goal remains the same – to break the NFL single-season rushing record. The Tennessee Titans running back admits his personal goal has been challenged by the lockout given the circumstances of his team. The Titans gave former quarterback Vince Young and former head coach Jeff Fisher their walking papers earlier this year. Now, the team will try to adjust under new leadership of Mike Munchak and a rookie quarterback in Jake Locker with no offseason training. But Chris Johnson’s confidence is rarely, if ever, shaken. “I don’t feel any pressure,†Johnson said in reference to breaking Eric twinkyerson’s single-season 2,105 rushing record. “[Opponents] know what type of player I am and what I’m capable of so no matter if I say it or not, the coach is still going to come and put 8 or 9 players in the box.†Source: Orlando Sentinel
One good season and it goes to his head....... If Jamaal Charles builds up his endurance, he'd have just as good of chance as anyone to get 2k.
Really, CJ? I think you should worry about helping your team make the playoffs, not a rushing record.
CJ is bringing this up once again in the media. CJ will not have a shot at a huge season again until he eliminates the numerous games during the season in which he absolutely disappears and runs for 20 yards. He's way too inconsistent right now to have any hope of piling up huge yardage again.
So true...he could only benefit from having a decent "partner" in there to spell him for a few carries or a couple series a game. How long before he comes out and says his goal is 2000 yards this year?
yep, i think his goal should be to run for at least 60 yards in every game and not disappear in several games, which is just killing his team.
