NFL Gameday Rosters Expand To 46 Players, No. 3 QB No Longer Inactive

Discussion in 'NFL General Discussion' started by BigBlueBruiser, Jul 22, 2011.

  1. Under the proposed CBA, NFL gameday rosters will expand from 45 to 46, with the No. 3 quarterback no longer inactive. Beginning this year, teams like the Vikings and Steelers can leave Joe Webb and Dennis Dixon active for more creative play-calling. It's also a way for rookie QB's such as the Ravens' Tyrod Taylor to see the field even if they remain projects as passers.

Actually glad this has happened even though it has little importance compared to the business regarding CBA at the minute. Never quite understood why the 3rd QB had to be inactive...
