Giants To Release C Shaun O'Hara

  1. Pro Football Talk is reporting that the New York Giants plan to release center Shaun O'Hara, making him the second starting offensive lineman from only a year ago to be informed of their pending release today. Rich Seubert was also informed of his impending release earlier this afternoon. When these moves become official, the Giants will have cleared an estimated $5.6 million. O'Hara joined the Giants in 2004 and was named to the Pro Bowl in 2008, 2009 and 2010. He was also an All-Pro in 2008 and helped the team win Super Bowl XLII in 2007.

That sucks. Who will replace him?

  4. With Rich Seubert gone as well......probably an incoming free agent. But Adam Koets could be an in-house candidate to replace O'Hara. He was given a two-year extension before tearing his ACL last fall.

Why is everyone releasing good players? It might be cap moves, but it still don't make sense to a guy who doesn't play Madden with a salary cap.

Some teams are releasing players to clear cap room and then sign the released players back later.

Stop with the Madden comments...it's silly.
