The Panthers have informed placekicker John Kasay of his impending release. It's the end of an era in Carolina. Kasay,42, is the only field goal kicker in Panthers history, starting out under Dom Capers in 1995. He's still an effective short field-goal artist, drilling at least 80 percent of his field goals in each of the past five seasons.
