Chargers agreed to terms with free safety Eric Weddle on a multi-year contract. The top safety available returns to San Diego. Though Chargers fans haven't been satisfied with Weddle's turnover rates -- he has six interceptions in four seasons -- he's arguably the best run-support free safety in football and not usually a liability in pass coverage. San Diego has an extremely good-looking secondary on paper with Weddle and Bob Sanders "inside," and Antoine Cason and Quentin Jammer on the corners. Now, they need to generate a better pass rush. Very good move from them, I was hoping we could snap him up quickly. We've gotta turn our focus to Dawan Landry now.
