Michael Lombardi of NFL Network is hearing the Texans has moved into the lead for free agent cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha. Lombardi reports the money will be in the $12-14 million per year range. ESPN NFL Insider Chris Mortensen speculated that Houston would offer Asomugha the most money in free agency. Source: Michael Lombardi: Twitter.com
Perhaps Matt Shaub is pulling a Sanchez and willing to restructure his deal to land Nnamdi? John McClain: Twitter.com
He's pulling a Drew Rosenhaus. Put it out there that they're offering a TON of money and drive up the price. This is dumb for the Texans. If they sign him they'll be trading him in 2 years like they did to Dunta Robinson. AND if they make this deal they totally handcuff themselves for making any other deals.
Well, this definitely different from their previous free agency strategy of signing some mediocre player (Jacque Reeves, Phillip Buchanon, Jason Allen.......) and hope they some how play better for us.
hes a great player but hes also thirty and thats not so young for a corner. if your gonna sign him, it should be for 4 years or less.
