Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Cardinals have traded running back Tim Hightower to the Redskins for a late-round pick based on playing time, along with DE Vonnie Holiday. Ahmad Bradshaw's options have been severely limited over the past 30 minutes with the Hightower trade and the Benson signing.

I don't see what Arizona's thinking. Isn't holiday like 35? Who cares about a late round pick hightowers a beast.

Hightower would be nice in Z blocking scheme, but Shanahan has a low tolerance for fumbles.

Hightower gave the Cards moments of pure excitement and despair all in one. Would bust an 80-yard run followed by a fumble at the goal line. Dude's big problem, and probably the No. 1 reason he got traded, is happy feet. Hightower is not one to hit the hole as designed, but to take a bunch of small strides and try to take it outside nearly every time he touches the ball. And the only thing that stands between Tim Hightower and the Pro Bowl is the ban on the use of Stick-em.
If Beanie gets hurt (a given) for an extended period, this could bite the Cards in the backside. Hightower has yet to miss a game in his career. 'Skins may have gotten the better deal here.

I thought TH was a good downhill runner, except when the o-line didn't open up any holes.

As long as he can get outside, he is.

The happy feet was because there were so few "designed" holes to run through. When the Cards drafted Ryan Williams in the second round I knew Wells/Hightower was on his way out. The ball handling miscues kept him from being the number one back despite the fact that Wells was more talented.
