Seahawks To Sign Free Agent TE Zach Miller

Discussion in 'Seattle Seahawks' started by BigBlueBruiser, Aug 1, 2011.

  1. According to Bill Williamson of ESPN, "all indications are that the Seahawks plan on signing" free agent tight end Zach Miller during his Monday visit. Still just 25 years old, Miller fits Seattle's game plan of signing young players with ties to their coaching staff. Seahawks owner Paul Allen has deep pockets, and coach Pete Carroll has shown an impressive ability to recruit over the past two years. It appeared that Miller was waiting for Oakland to clear enough cap room to give him a suitable deal after he unexpectedly wasn’t getting much interest on the open market. Perhaps he made the trip to let the Raiders know he is losing patience.

  2. If Miller signs with Seattle......Oakland could go after Kevin Boss hard.

We may have to explore acquiring Greg Olsen from Chicago. If we trade Osi in the coming days.....those picks would help in the deal.

Why is oakland letting this guy slip away? They need good recievers and this guy is one of the best in the whole league. Especially when their passing game is already very iffy....some of these moves i just dont get. Maybe they cant afford him?

I doubt Oakland will let this happen since Wimbley just signed a 5 year contract to get a lower cap hit this year we can now resign Miller. But if we do lose Miller our offense, mainly pass offense, is going to look just terrible.
