Former Detroit Lions quarterback Joey Harrington spent the night in the intensive care unit of a hospital after being hit by a car while biking in Portland, Ore., on Sunday night, according to various reports. Portland Police told KATU-TV that Harrington was struck from behind by a 26-year-old driving a small SUV around 8:30 p.m. local time. Harrington suffered non life-threatening injuries, including a broken collarbone and punctured lung, according to KATU. The driver was cited for following too close. Source: Detroit Free Press
"I was laying in the ER. I'm in the neck brace on the board and just sayin, 'Get me out of here,'" Harrington said. "I kinda whispered to one of the trauma docs, 'I played four years in Detroit. I can handle a car. Let's get this thing moving.'"
After living in Portland for a few years the people there are CRAZY when driving. I almost got hit on the sidewalk while walking by a blond twat driving a Lexus SUV that was WAY too big for her. ON A SIDEWALK! But yeah, I've met Joey Harrington before. He's a pretty cool kid. He just meanders the streets taking crap from idiots and being a nice guy. Crap is kind of funny though. Maybe the 20 something was a Beavers fan.
