Giants Sign Free Agent NT Gabe Watson

  1. The Giants have signed former Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle Gabe Watson, after bringing him in for a workout on Tuesday. Watson, 27, played five seasons with the Cardinals. He started all 16 games for the Cards in 2007, but hasn't started a game since. The Giants needed to add depth at defensive tackle, after Barry Cofield signed with the Washington Redskins, and the team parted ways with Rocky Bernard. Besides Watson and 28-year-old Chris Canty, the Giants' depth chart at DT features second-year player Linval Joseph (who appeared in six games last season) and rookie Marvin Austin (who sat out the entire college football season at North Carolina under suspension).

A really good pick up for the Giants actually. Watson hasn't been given many opportunities to play in the last few years, but he's extremely hard working and very underrated. At the very least he's great depth, I'm disappointed we didn't resign him.
