For the second time in eight days, a Detroit Lions rookie has exited practice early with an injury. Just five days after first-round pick Nick Fairley underwent surgery to repair a broken bone in his foot, second-round selection Mikel Leshoure was carted off the field Monday morning with a left foot injury, per a tweet from Tom Kowalski of Mlive.com. The extent of the injury is currently unknown. A 230-pound power back out of Illinois, Leshoure is expected to make up half of one of the NFC’s more potent 1-2 backfield punches this season. During his 2010 campaign as a member of the Fighting Illini, the 21-year-old rushed for 1,697 yards and 17 touchdowns in 13 games.

Wow, Lions draft picks are dropping like flies this year. Hopefully nothing too serious.

Yep. Sucks, without a doubt. Question is when does Stafford follow?

Definitely sucks for the guy. And, for the Lions..

And I am sure Lions fans hold their breath when anyone comes CLOSE to breathing on Stafford right now.

Yea I just saw on Sportcenter it's a torn achilles. He's done for this year. That really freaking sucks. I was really looking forward to seeing him in the NFL. I loved him at Illinois.

Man that sucks. I dont wanna say i have a second favorite team but i love the big underdogs and wanted to see the lions do somethings this year. Luckily they have a lot of options for a replacement. Good luck buddy, get well....
