Giants DE Osi Umenyiora Receives Treatment On Knee In Training Room Sunday

  1. Osi Umenyiora, the Giants' disgruntled defensive end, hasn't practiced yet, but Sunday night was the first time he wasn't even riding the stationary bike or watching practice. The Giants announced about one hour into practice that Umenyiora was in the trainer's room getting treatment on his left knee, and had been at their facility all day. The knee issue was revealed Thursday when Umenyiora said that was the reason he was not practicing, but it was met with some skepticism. Umenyiora reportedly has told the Giants he might need surgery for a torn meniscus in his knee. He has two years and $7.1 million remaining on his contract and wants the Giants to upgrade it, which so far they have refused to do. When Tom Coughlin was asked Sunday before practice if he was running out of patience with Umenyiora, he said, "Thank you for leading me into that one. I would like to think this will be resolved shortly, I hope, and he'll be out on the field."

Lol. He's not practiced, but has a torn meniscus? Shouldn't that have been taken care of during the lockout? That stationary bike must be a real snitch.
