There is one person who is optimistic a long-term contract will be worked out for Logan Mankins, and his vote matters a great deal. New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft told reporters today hopefully soon Mankins will be a “Patriot for life.â€￾ The team has a deadline of Sept. 20 to work out an extension for Mankins, who had the franchise tag placed on him. It’s been a tenuous situation for a long time, but he’s regarded as one of the finest interior linemen in the league. “If I have a vote, it will get done,â€￾ Kraft said according to ESPN Boston. “But the other side has to want it too. It's our desire and always has been our desire. Like I've tried to explain to you, you can't sign everyone you want, so you need to plan and I think we did our planning knowing the kind of environment we were coming into it. "We tried to position ourselves so we had our core veterans and we could continue to sign the people we want to sign. We think that Logan is among the best there is at the position. We drafted him and we want him here.â€￾ You better believe Kraft has a vote.

I hear a done deal on a 6 year contract, and with Matt Light back, Solder, it could be a dynamite Offensive line.
