Panthers Hope Rookie QB Cam Newton Will Start On Opening Day

    The Panthers is listing quarterback Jimmy Clausen as the starter, but the real hope throughout the organization is rookie Cam Newton will be the guy on opening day. He’s handled everything well throughout camp. Newton doesn’t have to light it up in the preseason. With what should be a good offense around him, he just needs to go out and show he can run the huddle and get the ball where it needs to go. If he can do that, Newton’s going to step over Clausen on the depth chart.

    Cam threw 3 ints today in practice, 2 back to back. That would scare the hell outa me if I spent a #1 pk on him.
