Eagles "Sniffing Around" Available LB's To Compete With Casey Matthews

Discussion in 'Philadelphia Eagles' started by BigBlueBruiser, Aug 25, 2011.

  1. The Eagles is still publicly touting MLB Casey Matthews as its starter, but the front office is still sniffing around other teams in search of an upgrade. Don’t be surprised if a move is made in the next few days to bring in someone who can push Matthews for the job. The team can also move SLB Jamar Chaney back to the middle, where he played well at the end of last season, and bring in someone else to compete on the strong side.

From what I've been hearing about Casey this move seems imminent.

  3. Chaney was a beast against the G-Men last season........never should've moved him in favor of Casey.

Not starting material at this point.

Oh please don't even start with him. He was great in training camp and once the season started he sucked and was nowhere to be seen on the field.

I would not mind bringing in competition and Chaney was a beast last season great tackler and great speed. Maybe eagles can trade CB Hanson for a LB in a team with too much talent at LB.

Sims hasn't even come close to living up to the hype in Detroit or Philly.

I dont like how casey gets all the blame for that performance against steelers. All of them sucked hard. It's easy to blame him tho considering he is calling the plays in the huddle.

Mike vick was a part and the defense inability to get off the field i dont care how many playmakers you got your defense on the field that long is gonna wear them out

Mike Vick had nothing to do with the Steelers first drive. All the Eagles defense was still fresh. All the LBs should have made plays to stop the Steelers rushing attack. Your defense is read and react. The requires skilled LBs. Thats something the Eagles lack and is a huge weakness in the passing and running game. You could say Vick's 3 ints were a factor. I don't. I think he will be fine. Unless the LB play steps up, games like that will happen alot.

honestly i dont think there should be worrys yet cause they did look good vs the ravens the defense and vick. We will get it together plus on offense we got steve smith coming off pup soon and maclin back.

This game determines if they sign someone. He shines or even plays halfway decent, they'll stick with him. He plays average or can't find a way to get off a freaking block, we shall be seeing some vets come in. Not necessarily MLBs either, as they may decide to move Chaney back to the middle.

Hell, I don't know why they didn't do any experimenting with Chaney in the middle and Matthews outside, come to think of it.

What happened was he sucked c**k and was caught out of position and damn near every play he was on the field. I'm sure you are familiar with the scene being a Lions fan.
