Redskins Coach Mike Shanahan May Not Name Starting QB Until Day Before Week 1

  1. Status quo was in full effect Thursday night for the Redskins, the third game of Quarterback Competition 2011 between John Beck and Rex Grossman. Both played four possessions. Both played with the starting offense. Both threw a touchdown pbutt. And both did nothing to hurt their chances of starting the season opener against the New York Giants. “I’m going to evaluate them all the way through camp, all the way through the last preseason game, possibly up to the day before we play the Giants,â€￾ coach Mike Shanahan said after the Redskins lost, 34-31, to the Baltimore Ravens. “It all depends on if someone separates themselves.â€￾

How about Mike just flip a coin and pick his starter that way.
