Pittsburgh Steelers backup quarterback Byron Leftwich left Saturday night's preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons after suffering what appears to be a serious injury to his left arm. In his first series of the night, Leftwich scrambled for six yards on a third-and-seven and landed awkwardly on his arm. Leftwich was clearly injured, using his right hand to tap his helmet as he left arm dangled limply at his side. The 31-year-old Leftwich has the inside track for the Steelers' No. 2 job, but could also be used as trade bait to a team looking for a starting quarterback this season. Leftwich is under contract through this season, which calls for a base salary of $1.75 million. Source: Mac's Football Blog
Doubt they go anywhere other than Batch or Dixon. Can't say I wouldn't mind them exploring other options in the event Ben goes down for significant time.
They're saying he's going on IR, which sucks.. it's his contract year. Poor Byron, so damn injury prone.
That video is pretty sick. You can tell when breaks. Nasty. Speaking of that... anyone remember when Junior Seau broke his forearm when he was with the Pats? Now that was a sick butt video.
I know of two college players breaking their leg and it dangling.. Tyronne Prothro and some kid playing for Houston against Marshall..
