Patriots WR Wes Welker Suffers Neck Injury Vs. Lions

New England wide receiver Wes Welker has left Saturday night's preseason game at Detroit with a neck injury. Welker's return is questionable. Welker appeared to suffer the injury while attempting to make a tackle on an interception thrown by quarterback Tom Brady late in the second quarter. The injury was announced early in the third quarter with the Patriots trailing 27-10. Welker was New England's leading receiver last season, catching 86 passes for 848 yards.

Not carted off, had no idea he was even injured until they mentioned it. My guess it was a stinger, he'll be ready to go probably figured it's a meaningless preseason game, didn't want to risk further injury.

 

im sure he will play week1 no matter if he's ready or not thats the type of guy he will play

 

I find this story very hard to believe. Tom Brady doesn't throw interceptions...it's all a fake.

If Welker is out for a good amount of time, this should be good for Hernandez. He should pick up a lot of the slack. Hell, there's a chance he could have the most receiving yards on that team. Brady loves him...

And yea Hernandez is great. I wouldn't have any problem with him being on the field more.

 

I know its only preseason but the Lions looked amazing against the Pats.
