49ers Re-Sign RB Frank Gore To A Three-Year, $21M Extension

Discussion in 'San Francisco 49ers' started by BigBlueBruiser, Aug 30, 2011.

  1. The San Francisco 49ers have agreed to a three-year, $21M extension with running back Frank Gore, including $13.5 million guaranteed. On top of Gore's $4.9 million salary for 2011, he can earn $25.9 million over four years. Without benefit of the open market, Gore didn't have the leverage that landed DeAngelo Williams $21 million guaranteed. He and agent Drew Rosenhaus still did well to land one last big contract entering Gore's age-28 season. The 49ers will get plenty of value out of Gore this year, but a decline in broken tackles and effectiveness as a receiver suggest he already began losing a step last season.

  2. This isn't exactly DeAngelo Williams money.....but this should keep Gore happy.

In fact.....this is a very generous offer.

pretty modest deal....id imagine hes gonna get a lot of carries this year behind that line and with the crap he has at QB.

remember way back when he was a nobody and sharing carries with kevan barlow? damn

    Lol...Kevan Barlow...another name I'd take over Tiki.

It's a very fair deal for both sides in comparison to what Williams and Bradshaw recently got.

Should be interesting to see how this deal affects Forte and Hillis...

  11. Kendall Hunter should be ready to take over the reigns in two-three years.
