It's possible wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez's most recent injury could be the one that ends his association with the Colts as rosters must be trimmed from 80 to 53 on Saturday, and there's no assurance the team's 2007 first-round draft pick will be spared. "I understand it's a realistic possibility, probably more so this year than ever before," Gonzalez said. Gonzalez is due a 2011 base salary of $1.11 million. He counts $2.1 million against the $120.3 million salary cap. Releasing him would free up nearly $1 million in cap space. Money, though, likely would be a secondary factor. "I think (it would be) because of the injuries," Gonzalez said. "My No. 1 goal coming into camp was not missing practice or a game. Obviously that hasn't happened. That's been pretty disappointing."

He'll find a gig real quick. With Wayne, Garcon and Collie, they can afford to cut Gonzalez to save a little coin and the headache of him getting injured again.

He's a solid slot receiver so he won't be out of work for too long.
