A year ago, the Chicago Bears made running back Chester Taylor one of the first players to sign in free agency but today they made him one of their first cuts on the final day to trim down to the 53-man roster. Taylor averaged 2.38 yards per carry last season, the lowest by a running back with a minimum of 100 attempts since the merger in 1970. He’ll be 32 later this month but has a track record for durability and should catch on somewhere. The team also informed defensive tackle Marcus Harrison, a third-round pick in 2008, that he is being waived. Harrison never panned out and he showed up out of shape for training camp for the second time in three summers.
