Saints Re-Sign Coach Sean Payton To Contract Extension Through 2015

Discussion in 'New Orleans Saints' started by BigBlueBruiser, Sep 5, 2011.

  1. The New Orleans Saints have given coach Sean Payton a contract extension through 2015. The team said Monday that Payton has agreed to the deal. Payton took over as coach in 2006 and led the Saints to the NFC South title. Three years later, he guided them to their first conference championship, and they beat Indianapolis in the Super Bowl. Payton has a 53-33 record, including the postseason, with New Orleans. "Our goal is to continue to build a tradition of winning here in New Orleans and Sean represents that tradition," Saints owner Tom Benson said.

  2. It's great to see a team like New Orleans who suffered through futility for so long......finally establishing a winning tradition and it starts from the top.

    Payton definitely deserves it.........

Brees is next. Payton has said he's in N.O. as long as Brees is.

    That would be a no.

  9. Of course not.......it was a joke. Just citing those rumors of Payton leaving the Saints last year when he bought a house in Dallas.

Great to see. Payton has done great things with the Saints. Now, Brees is next. Glad to see them keeping the pieces in place, not letting them get away. I love what this guy has done. Established a winning attitude, and brought a Super Bowl to the organization. Without a doubt, a great start to his coaching career and I hope its a very long one in New Orleans.
