Yep. Banner said they were thinner than they thought they were, but they are making more and more moves behind the scenes freeing up a mil here, mil there.

I'm all for some big incentives this year and perhaps a future dated contract guaranteed if he hits certain performance goals this season (5 year, $50 million w/ 30 guaranteed if he hits 1,200 yards and 10 TDs this season).

I'm well aware. And I've accepted the insanity that is professional sports players' wages. My post there was just a direct reply to cKlbutt.

This is what I was referring to in the Hansen Thread as well. I thought there was something about this out there. So they probably freed up space with Hansen, so they could probably extend Jackson if they really wanted to. These guys can make numbers work magic, it's just whether they want to or not...

dont know why they wouldn't. he's a huge part of the offense wether the ball goes to him or not. he opens things up for others. plus the guy already said publicy he knows he isnt getting fitzgerald type money. he just wants to get paid his worth and be extended.

Am I the only person who agrees with the Duke every snitching freaking and excuse my extreme language and racism here. But stop being dumb freaking niggers and spending all of your money! I honestly don't care if I get banned for this statement.

Yeah because only black athletes demand more money. Who said he's spent it all? He probably just wants to get paid before something awful i.e. bad season or injury diminishes his stock.

put the white hood down kid. if you wanna hate on athletes because they have an opportunity to earn more in a week than you and your whole klan will in a lifetime go start a thread in the fight club to snitch and complain.

What white football player has sat out recently to get paid more? And I'm not racist, I just had to say that because these players always demand new contracts and I understand you want to get a respectable contract before something terrible happens because who doesn't wanna buy a lot of expensive and cool crap. But the thing is...he's been paid what 500 grand a year? Listen you invest some of that, you put in a high interest savings account, and listen 4 years of playing for 500 grand gets you 2 million dollars, for might I add playing a FREAKING GAME. Dude your job is to freaking catch a ball, don't snitch because you're not getting paid enough because I'm sure there are plenty of people who didn't get drafted and currently don't have teams that would play for the amount of money you're getting. I just think it's freaking ridiculous how out of control these player salaries have gotten. I'm just happy that rookies aren't getting paid obscene amounts of money anymore.

Its about market value dude. The fact is that the market value for a guy like Jackson is way higher than what he is being paid. Its not about him running out of money, wanting to just buy cool crap, or being black(an ignorant statement to make in the first place.) Its about him getting paid what he has earned by the market that is set by the owners themselves.

For the people saying "THEY PLAY A FREAKING GAME", Yeah.. You're right. A Game that you would PAY TO WATCH, if it came to it, and for the ones who say you wouldn't, is a damned lie. If you were outperforming all of your peers at work, and made minimum wage, I'm pretty sure you would be pissed off if they were making 13-14 dollars an hour, and you're stuck at 8 an hour. Just put it in them terms. This dude as I said before, Has won games by himself, and for him not to get paid his due, is beyond ludicrous.

To say it's a racist thing, apparently you don't remember how big of a freaking snitch Jay Cutler was, when he felt he got slighted and wanted the hell out of Denver. Sure it wasn't because of a contract, but it's the same principle. There's not too many great athletes that deserve to be paid like a Dasean Jackson in order to get paid, and to hold out. [And I'm white, So i Must be reverse racist].

Terrell's obsession comes from him being ASKED, if you would read the article, instead of just the subject line. And he's right. Get your money, before these teams, businesses screw you, and someone else isn't going to pay you as much. Because that's what the NFL is all about. I love it more than I do most things in life, but I know that it's a cut throat business, and if I were in it, I'd be in it about my money first, for anyone to say otherwise is a complete liar, or a better man than anyone else on this forum. Ain't no way I'm going to go a couple of years honoring my contract outperforming everyone else that's getting paid more than me on my team. If I deserve it, give it to me.

He signed a contract. He can play for that contract......or not. Until he has a new one those are his options.

Ok but if he underperformed the team can cut him without a second though. Screw that. The teams are all about playing out your contract if youre overperforming. But if you underperform they kick your butt out the door.

Ok and at any job a person can also ask for a raise, right? So how is that any different?

But the NFL doesn't. The point I'm trying to make is the owners are hypocrites. When it benefits them, they have no problem dishonoring a contract. Why is it ok for them to heck a guy who isn't playing well, but when a player dominates he can't expect a return on that?
