Jason LaCanfora of NFL.com reports that Kansas City Chief strong safety Eric Berry has been diagnosed with a torn ACL and is out for the season. It's a huge blow for a Chiefs team that challenged the Colts for Week 1's worst performance. Berry was a rock as a rookie last season, playing 100 percent of the Chiefs' defensive snaps while notching 92 tackles and four interceptions. Jon McGraw took his place in the secondary on Sunday, and is the favorite to start alongside FS Kendrick Lewis against the Lions in Week 2. Berry's loss will affect Kansas City's run and pass defense. He was particularly terrific in run support, and a playmaker on the ball.

And this is what happens when you lock players out and there's no off season training regiments! Way to be NFL!
