Terrelle Pryor won’t be the only member of the Oakland Raiders with an appeal pending with the NFL. This other one, however, is a little different. The Raiders are planning to appeal the distance on Sebastian Janikowski’s record-tying 63-yard field goal. The team believes it was actually spotted from 64 yards out. The extra yard would bet the record previously set by Tom Dempsey (1970) and Jason Elam (1998) by one yard. “It means a lot,†Janikowski of the record, per Vittorio Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle. “I’m not big on setting goals, but I wanted to be 10 years in the league, break the record or tie the record and win the Super Bowl. Those were my three goals, and I’ve got two out of three. “Hopefully, this year I get the third one.â€

This guy is a very underrated kicker I think.

If this were another team I might say it was valid but because it's the Raiders I find this just kind of petty.

SHouldn't be too hard to look at...roll the tape back.

  5. I disagree. I think people are overrating him just because he can kick far.

Someone said he was a HOF and he was better than Vinatieri. :jawdropper:

He gets overlooked a lot because of guys like Vinatieri. Take a look at this guy's numbers and he's a pretty accurate kicker on top of a strong leg.

  7. Yeah um Dude he doesn't even have a career 80% mark. He was the 27th most accurate K last year and has had more than 1 season with below 70% accuracy.

78.7% isn't that bad considering he plays for a team who's had him kick 74 yard field goals for whatever unholy reason. I'm not saying he's in Vinateri's league and whatever imbecile said that he was should head butt a butter knife but the guy is not some unreliable schmuck. Not to mention twice in his career he had a FG % of 89+ and still was overshadowed.

The day Ray Guy goes into the hall i'll entertain an argument for him. Until that happens, no thanks.
