The St. Louis Rams have signed running back Quinn Porter off the Cleveland Browns practice squad, Porter's agent, Travis Martz, announced on Twitter. Originally signed by the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Stillman, Porter had 21 carries for 77 yards and caught one pass for six years, but was released at the end of his first training camp. After a four-week stint on the Washington Redskins practice squad, Porter finished the season on the Browns practice squad and signed a "Reserve/Futures" contract in January. Porter had 15 carries for 59 yards, caught one pass for eight yards and averaged 23.7 yards on three kick returns for the Browns during the preseason before he was released and re-signed to the practice squad. Martz adds that Porter is being brought in to return kicks, a role that Jerious Norwood filled (26.3-yard average) on Sunday. Source: Mac's Football Blog
Huh? My initial comment in this thread was pure sarcasm since multiple teams have signed players from their practice squad.
