The Detroit Lions announced that this Sunday's home-opener against the Kansas City Chiefs is a sellout and will be shown on local television. A limited number of tickets (100-200) remain, and Lions president Tom Lewand hopes posts like this are a thing of the past. "We hope the days when announcing that we’ve sold the game out or the blackout has been lifted is no longer a newsworthy event," Lewand said. "Winning a game on the road should not be a tremendously newsworthy event. We have to have a level of expectation that we need to not only win games, but to perform well doing so." The Lions opened on the road, beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 27-20, their second win in Tampa in less than a year. "Clearly winning the game on Sunday always helps and it always has," said Lewand. "That’s a given. The amount of enthusiasm that our fans have shown at the box office has been pretty remarkable all season long." Source: Mac's Football Blog
After the beat down the Chiefs got at the hands of the Bills, Lions fans must feel on cloud nine about this game.
You never know, the Cheifs could be a totally different team this week, but I'm hoping they're not :icon_cheesygrin:
