ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Rams wide receiver Danny Amendola is lobbying to play agaimst the Giants on Monday night despite a severely dislocated left elbow suffered in last Sunday's loss to Philadelphia. "Danny Amendola actually wants to play, and the Rams doctors are gonna have to try to hold him out," said Schefter. The report confirms Amendola's toughness, but it also suggests he's recovering more quickly than anticipated. Coach Steve Spagnuolo reiterated Wednesday that Amendola will not need elbow surgery. Perhaps he'll be back before the Rams' Week 5 bye, after all. Source: The Redzone
I admire when players want to get out there but you have to be smart about your well being and future numb nuts. SN: sometimes I think players treat injuries like a "hold me back situation". They really don't want to get out there but they want to give everybody the impression they're tough guys.
Danny's been doing it all his career. The guy is tiny and has made himself a living from getting absolutely killed catching down the middle, he's a legit tough guy. But yeah, he shouldn't in anyway be playing this week. Dislocated Elbows are certainly not fun.
