The Sports Xchange reports that Colts vice chairman Bill Polian has given struggling QB Kerry Collins a show of support following two sub-par performances to begin the season. "Kerry did improve and he will get better and he will get better in time. There are no magic formulas," Polian said. "It's just a matter of everybody getting better and taking 6-inch steps and doing a better job at it and that's what occurred (against the Browns)." Source: CBSSports
..0-2 start for the Colts. I heard a fan down here say..that the Colts will throw in the towel on the season..and get Luck and rebuild around him. I laughed at how ignorant that sounded with all the money they are now paying Manning. Seriously. What other choice but standing behind Collins do you have with Manning injured?
That's what I was saying. Bringing in a washed up QB off the couch can't be better than a guy that's been in the system. And now we're seeing that. Give Painter a shot. It's not like he can do worse.
Of course they back him because if they didn't that would mean they were wrong for bringing him in and we all know how narcissistic NFL organizations are. Not to mention I'm sure they want this season to go down the drain so they can be in the running for Luck. We saw how well that time behind Favre benefited Rodgers.
This isn't all on Collins. The entire team seems to have thrown in the towel which is just ridiculous.
