The Seattle Seahawks have demoted outside linebacker Aaron Curry, the fourth overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, to the second team, the Tacoma News Tribune reported Thursday. Curry, whose play has failed to live up to his billing out of Wake Forest, will now back up rookie K.J. Wright, a fourth round pick out of Mississippi State. "I don't even know how to put it into words," Curry said. "But it is what it is … Everything happens for a reason. There's a purpose behind everything, and I'll find it and learn from it and take off running." Curry, 25, has struggled to turn his impressive athletic ability into big plays for the Seahawks over the past two seasons. Source: FoxSports
Damn he was expected to be the steal of the draft when he was projected first overall by some experts. I would not mind giving a 5th for him
Well, everyone criticized the Chiefs when they went Jackson instead of Curry. Now, it looks like there's no right answer......:icon_confused:
I really like what he brought to the table. I'm kind of upset that he didn't pan out. I wouldn't mind getting him for a low draft pick.
wow...i know there was speculation, but an OLB #1? guys like him, arrington, and hawk never live up to their draft status even if they turn out to be fine players...that doesnt seem to be the case with curry though, i was never crazy about him but damn he had some people calling him the best LB in the last 10 years
