Assuming Tony Romo suits up Monday night, there will be one difference between the Cowboys quarterback this week and last week when he came back after fracturing his rib against the 49ers: the Cowboys’ QB will have a pain killing injection this time. Romo played without a painkiller last time, according to a source who knew what went on in the trainer’s room. The fact that team doctors feel comfortable giving him a painkiller probably will enhance Romo’s chances of playing. While the painkiller should in theory help Romo, the concern is that initially he could be stiffer because it will take him awhile to get the adrenalin flowing. Source: National Football Post
im calling bs on this. come the heck on. broken ribs and punctuated lung and no pain killers. you gotta be kidding me. they need to stop glorifying romo.
I agree Ward. I just hope this doesn't blow up in our faces. There is a good chance 1 good smash from a defender and he is out for the year.
There's a very good chance the cowboys could beat the redskins with Jon Kitna. I said it in another thread too, he has been taking all the first team snaps at practice for the mist part. If he struggles out there, then give Romo a shot.
The only thing I can think is, this is all just smoke and mirrors. Maybe he isn't hurt as bad as they are saying. Or maybe they pull the ol' switcharoo and start Kitna. Cause playing Romo right now if he is this hurt makes no sense to me.
I'm sick of the Romo talk. I don't care if his lung is or isn't punctured or if he did or didn't take painkillers. The media is going crazy over this crap and it's annoying. I can't believe how many Romo threads there have been over the past week. It's bordering on Tebow Obession.
