Linebacker Aaron Maybin has been re-signed by the New York Jets, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. Maybin, signed by the Jets after he released by the Bills after the first preseason game, survived the Jets' cutdown to 53, but he was cut when the team signed backup quarterback Kevin O'Connell. Maybin, the 11th overall pick in the 2009 draft, had 1½ sacks in the Jets' final preseason game. The Jets had one open roster spot after placing center Robert Turner (broken leg) and tight end Jeff Cumberland (torn Achilles tendon) on injured reserve Tuesday. To fill one roster spot, they promoted rookie tight end/fullback Josh Baker from the practice squad. Source: ESPN New York
