Just minutes after his former team was depleted by season-ending defensive injuries, Chargers S Bob Sanders landed on injured reserve again himself with a bad knee. Sanders, the 2007 NFL defensive MVP, has now played 50 games in his eight-year career and missed 78 with a litany of injuries. "All we wished for Bob was good health and hoped to turn him loose to do his thing, which was being one great, physical, highly-competitive player," San Diego GM A.J. Smith, who signed Sanders in the offseason, said in a statement. "It didn't work out for him or us, and we wish him the very best. He was with us a very short time, but made a positive impact with our team in many ways, and I'll always appreciate that." Taking Sanders' roster spot is former Bears Pro Bowl DT Tommie Harris. He could be forced onto the field immediately given the rash of injuries along the Chargers' defensive line.

I don't think anyone is surprised by that haha. I am curious to see how Harris looks in a 3-4

    cover the spread beastin'

Sanders lasted about 2 weeks longer than I expected.

as far as Tommie Harris goes, the Chargers run an aggressive 3-4 defense, so if Harris can stay healthy I think he can be a productive player in their system.

I can't believe how fast Sanders fell from the top. Just seems like one day he was an elite player and the next day he was nothing.
