Does someone require the WWE to do a triple threat Championship match 2-3 times a year?

The overuse of gimmick matches seems to be standard operating procedures these days.

The Rock I believe was the last WWF/E superstar to hold the classic IC title before it's repackaging in 1998.

Love the white strap........looks exactly like the old one. Expect with the WWE logo of course.

Now they just need to give Rhodes a long run with the belt to give it some prominence back. Playing hot potato with the belt only cheapens it when there is a title change.

Wow, the WWE sure dropped the ball with this PPV. None of the matches had the proper build up to give them some heat. A Hell in a Cell gimmick should be used only as a blow off to a major feud IMO. None of the Hell in the Cell matches felt special at all. The Sin Cara/Sin Cara match totally lost the crowd and they never seemed to recover. What was the WWE thinking having another PPV just two weeks after the last one?

I enjoyed seeing Cody Rhodes, and the Christian/Sheamus feud isn't bad. But like you said, the rest was.... Meh. How bad is smackdown that they are relying on Henry and Orton for their main event picture. I could give a damn about either of them.

Dude. Henry is the unbeatable heel role is PERFECT for this company. He truly can utterly destroy anyone in his path. The issue is he needs a mouth piece. He isn't awful on the mic (as in better than Alberto Del Boro) but he isn't very good at all. If he had a manager who could speak, it'd be amazing. But he is what they need.

I'm glad they're running the whole "nWo" angle and I'm excited to see where it leads. I'd love to see some other guys get in on this and have someone either named the champ or win the title from the WWE guys and make the ANTI-WWE title. Perhaps, the Winged Eagle belt? Hmmm?

And to add to what Steve said, this whole PPV was just a build up to the end of HIAC, no more, no less. It ended BRILLIANTLY with Truth and Miz coming in. This is a GREAT build up. PERFECT way to bring back Truth and Miz without having them "hired" somehow back in the WWE. Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.

If he hadn't been with the company forever, for just a couple of years, I could see it. But he's done too much other bullcrap for me to buy it. This is "Sexual Chocolate" we're talking about.

I know, it's hard to take Mark Henry seriously after he fathered a hand with Mae Young back in the day. One thing you have to remember though is they signed Mark Henry to a 10-year deal when they first signed him and didn't know how to use him right. I really believe that right now the way they are building Mark Henry up is the best thing going in the WWE and wrestling in general. Go back and watch some of Henry's promos (like after he beat Orton for the title and the RAW after). He's keeping it simple, pretty much saying he's going to destroy whoever wants to try and take his title. A title change will now have some meaning to it. I hope they let Henry carry the strap for a while.

  17. Another interesting factoid about the classic IC title rebirth:

The last WWF/E superstar to hold the classic IC title white strap version that Cody Rhodes is sporting is none other than Triple H, who defeated "Wildman" Marc Mero for the title in late 1996.
