Rams WR Danny Amendola Out For The Season With Torn Triceps

Discussion in 'St. Louis Rams' started by BigBlueBruiser, Oct 5, 2011.

  1. Adam Caplan of TheSidelineView.com reports that Rams wide receiver Danny Amendola will miss the rest of the 2011 season with a torn triceps muscle. Amendola went for a second opinion on his elbow/triceps injury Wednesday, and it apparently confirmed the muscle tear. Caplan doesn't know whether Amendola will require surgery, but it's probably a good bet that he will. Rookie Austin Pettis has been working as St. Louis' slot receiver for the past two games, managing six catches for 40 yards. Fellow rookie Greg Salas was tried in the role Weeks 1-2, but flopped badly and has since been deactivated on game days.

Real shame. Amendola is a gutsy player and real value to the passing game underneath, something that Austin Pettis certainly doesn't compare to.

Are we sure he won't come back? Remember the Rams said that they thought he was season was done after he dislocated his elbow and he came back a week or two later. I wouldn't be shocked if he came back after the bye week.:sarcasm1:

Man, that's tough for the Rams as things are already bleak as-is. Hard to see a silver lining in what's going on in St. Louis right now.
