According to Albert Breer of the NFL Network, Oakland Raiders Owner Al Davis has passed away. Breer writes via Twitter, "Raiders.com says Al Davis has passed away. RIP to a man whose impact on professional football was truly incalculable." The Raiders are expected to make a comment later today. The Raiders have posted "AL DAVIS; July 4, 1929-October 8, 2011; The Raider Family Will Issue A Statement Later Today" on the front page of their website. Source: Albert Breer via Twitter
They should keep him around aka Weekend at Bernies. Too soon? Never thought this day would actually happen. RIP Al.
GIF and it's members send out condolences to the family and friends of Al Davis, no matter what anyone thought of him, he lived his life as he wanted. JUST WIN BABY!!!
Even though the raiders were pretty awful the last decade, no one can deny the sucsess hes had in the past, or what hes done for profootball. Yeesh the world is losing some influential people!
Woooow. Absolutely did not see this coming at all. As much as we liked to make fun of him and the Raiders, the guy was a genius in the 'early years'. RIP.
While he may have become nothing more then a punchline at the end there no doubting he helped shape the NFL into what it is today. So yeah a piece of history has died today RIP Al
RIP Mr. Davis. For all the crap Ive talked about you in recent years, you were a true innovator in your day and did a lot to make the game what it is today. Thank you.
Wow. It was kinda a shock to see this considering he's been so active in things the past couple seasons. Nonetheless, he didn't look too healthy. Definitely a loss to the NFL world, for what he did early on. RIP
